Three tremendous storytellers will read at this special event. Leigh Stein, Executive Director of the nonprofit organization Out of the Binders, shares from her memoir Land of Enchantment, followed by Shobha Rao, celebrated debut author of the collection An Unrestored Woman. Maile Meloy, renowned writer of Montana roots, distinguished for both adult and youth fiction, will preview her forthcoming novel, the story of children who get lost on a family vacation and fail to realize the danger they’re in.

Shobha Rao

Shobha Rao moved to the US from India at the age of seven. She is the winner of the 2014 Katherine Anne Porter Prize in Fiction, awarded by Nimrod International Journal. She has been a resident at Hedgebrook and is the recipient of the Elizabeth George Foundation fellowship. Her story Kavitha and Mustafa was chosen by TC Boyle for inclusion in the Best American Short Stories 2015. She lives in San Francisco.
