University of Montana Campus Literary Magazine Reading, hosted by the Mansfield Library

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Hosted by the Mansfield Library, we will invite poets and writers to read from their work published in the three campus literary publications:

The Oval: It is our mission to provide a fresh outlet for new and young artists to express themselves, their ideas and passions to the world through the medium of print. We are undergraduates committed to showcasing literary and artistic works from our peers.

Cutbank: We’re proud of CutBank‘s forty years as Montana’s foremost literary magazine, founded in 1973 by the Creative Writing program at the University of Montana and helmed initially by favorite literary son William Kittredge. We publish two print issues a year of compelling poetry, fiction, and literary nonfiction by established writers and new voices alike.

Camas: Camas aims to cultivate novel ideas and perspectives while remaining rooted in the inherited traditions of art and literature of the American West. Founded by Environmental Studies graduate students at the University of Montana in 1992, Camas is a biannual environmental literary magazine that continues to be produced by students in the Environmental Studies program. Our goals are to encourage a dialogue on environmental and cultural issues in the West; celebrate the people who work, study, write, and live here; and provide an opportunity for students and emerging writers to publish their work alongside established environmental authors.

Participants:

Writers from Camas, the Oval, and CutBank literary magazines.
