Leslie Van Stavern Millar: Montana Peepshow Stories

Join Missoula artist Leslie Van Stavern Millar as she presents The First Queen Elizabeth Time Travels to Montana.  This new multi faceted art book was created to complement her exhibition,Montana Peepshow Stories, currently on display at the Missoula Museum of the Arts.  Leslie will present a brief slide show on the process by which she came up with the unique aspects of the book. These include a theatrical peepshow prototype, paper doll of Queen Elizabeth the First, two inventive illustrated essays about the art process and reproductions of the 10 peepshow paintings. Leslie will demonstrate a few of the techniques required to make the book and talk about what inspired the art book and the series upon which it is based, Montana Peepshow Stories. The program will include a personal hands-on introduction to the Peepshow exhibit.  Program participants will receive their own paper doll of Queen Elizabeth 1.
